Summer Picnic!

The dynamic social team has organized another fun social event: summer picnic in Foster City park last Saturday! The day started out to be overcast and cool. Everyone traveled great distances to get to the park, even as far as crossing the San Mateo bridge twice.

The day was filled with activities and of course, LOTS of food. There were roasted duck, chicken, spicy wings, shrimp, salad, lots of rice and noodles, desserts, snacks, drinks, and the list goes on. Many people even took home left-overs as well.

Besides working hard on devouring good food, everyone found something fun to do to burn off the extra calories. Some joined the nonstop ultimate Frisbee games and Football tossing. Others braved the hard volleyball and survived with a few bruises but lots of fun. And there are some who just chilled and enjoyed the great day as it slowly warmed up.

We finished the day off with our traditional watermelon eating contest. With 2 teams of 10 contestants fighting hard to find room in their stomach for the watermelon, it was a close challenge. Finally, Allen Wang led his team to victory when he inhaled the winning slice of watermelon.

Special thanks to the Social Committee (Susan, Barney, Leann) for organizing and showing up early to reserve the spot. And a thanks to all those who showed up and brought food!
