2007 Fremont Sprint

Sprints have always been the team’s strongest showing and this year is no different. Tactical changes on paddling rates and calls seemed to push performance even more. Armed with previous racing experience and more practices, Lightwave 2 powered their way to the 1st place in Division D grabbing their very first hardware!
Lightwave 1 managed to get in Division B for the first time and proved to be very competitive against stronger teams there. The team placed fourth with just half second away from the third place and another hardware, similar with the previous race. Hopefully the team will break this half second from hardware curse on the next Long Beach race.
Special Thanks
- Coaches (Jackie, Preston, Annie, Allen, James, Sunil): Lightwave’s success could not be earned without each and every one of you.
- Foodies (Frank, Alison, Olivia): Job well done gang. We ate well and were well-hydrated. Additional thanks to Leann Leung for organizing and prepping lunch (Vietnamese sandwiches) for us all. It looked greated and tasted great too!
- Washington High Girls and Boys for their added contributions during the co-ed and gender races.
- Our Steerspeople and Callers (Alan, Allen, Annie, Frank, Jackie, James, Leann Duong, Preston, Ray, Susan Yu, Wendy): You are all additionally a part of the added success, doing double- or even triple-duty on the boat.
